Learning editing is like learning a language. Every month on our highly structured course you study a new creative skill and edit multiple sequences around that skill. Through weekly masterclasses, live cutting sessions and in depth 1-2-1 feedback, you are totally immersed in the craft of editing. As you progress through The Pro Editor Program you build up a holistic overview of editing and fill in the gaps of your creative knowledge.

Each month has been specifically designed to balance learning with the deadlines and accountability of a professional editing environment.
Learn, Edit, Feedback, Repeat
The cycle then repeats with a new skill mastered every month. You gradually build up an enormous library of diverse sequences and scenes for your showreel. At the end of every term you're given your grade with further written feedback. After 12 months of being pushed to your creative limit you graduate from the program with all the skills required to be a pro level editor.

1-2-1 Feedback: Analysing Every Shot of Your Work
In the 1-2-1 sessions, Paddy goes through your cuts and gives you shot by shot analysis of your work. He analyses your structure, your shot flow, your scene tonality, your music use and every creative aspect of your edits. He tells you what you need to focus on and gives you detailed notes on how to make this month's work ready for client submission. This will be the most in-depth feedback you will ever get in your career.

You are set tasks from a wide array of films every month. Our Raw Footage has been deliberately filmed for you to build an extensive showreel to attract clients.

The Ultimate Creative Accreditation
Certified Pro Editor Accreditation will be given to students who attain a B- level or above across the whole course. Clients look for verification of your skills, before they trust you with their production. There are several ways to demonstrate this:
A Strong CV
A strong CV and compelling showreel with recognisable brands and clients. This confirms to clients that you have the experience for their project.
Agent Representation
Lets clients know that you have gone through a vetting system and provides reassurance of your ability.
Software Accreditation
Lets clients know you've mastered the software.
Pro Editor Accreditation
Lets clients know you've mastered the numerous creative skills required to edit a complex project.
Admissions
Entry Requirements
Whilst most students will have a degree, we will also consider students who do not have a degree if they have a creative track record or an alternative qualification.
Software
A good grasp of an editing software e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer.
Experience
Related industry experience or previous training in editing.
